Pressure Gauges

A pressure gauge shows the internal pressure of a fire extinguisher. Whether an extinguisher is ready for use can be seen from its gauge. We supply standard and large pressure gauges for fire extinguishers, and 1" gauges for fire hose cabinets, on a wholesale basis.

How to read a fire extinguisher pressure gauge

The gauge dial is divided into coloured zones:

• Green zone: Pressure is correct; the extinguisher is ready for use.
• Low pressure zone: The extinguisher has lost pressure; it should be checked and refilled.
• High pressure zone: Pressure is higher than it should be; the extinguisher should be checked.

The gauge is the first part checked during periodic inspections of fire extinguishers.

When should a gauge be replaced?

Gauges with broken or scratched glass, a stuck needle, a dial that has become hard to read, or suspected incorrect readings are replaced during refilling and servicing. A faulty gauge can lead to the condition of the extinguisher being misjudged.

Fire hose cabinet gauge

The 1" gauge used in fire hose cabinets shows the water pressure in the line. We also supply the nozzles used in fire hose cabinets.
